The day after the fashion caravan moved to Paris, Gaia Trussardi officially opened her new collection shop, called Ludicious. In the hearth of the Quadrilatero della Moda, in Via Sant’Andrea 5, very next to the Trussardi shop, there is a window with delicate creponne dresses, wool and tweed coats, turquoise bluses, little jackets and funny handbags with leather bows.
*Gaia, why now when the fashion crowd left?*
“Because this is a project out of the fashion system, out of the fashion logic. It’s not a brand yet, it is more a retail project, based on the product, and the success that the product has on the market. This will be decisive to develop the retail and the wholesale”.
*Describe the product. How is it?*
“It started as an idea of a mono-product, just dresses, with a ludicious spirit. The name is a combination of ludicrous and delicious and originates from my experience as a young mom. I bought dresses for my daughter, in all the typical fabrics of kid clothes – and they were so delicious that I thought I have to translate this image in a women collection, avoiding to be too childish. The name means also don’t take it too seriously. Just wear the dress from the morning on. All dresses are Made in Italy, with a great attention to the quality. And to the price: the dresses cost around 250 euros, the most expensive items is a coat in tweed and velvet, it’s 600 euros”.
Last night a great party with the “meglio gioventù” (the young Milanese jet set) to celebrate the opening and the screening of the Loudicious video, where Gaia performs her own collection. The projection took place in a small courtyard with a tree from where hangs a lot of leather bears keyrings. The access is through a vegetation tunnel, with little sparkling light like lightning bugs. A quite funny and uncommon atmosphere for Montenapoleone. Actually, very _ludicious_.
