Well, finally Milan has got his fame of trendy city back today. Apparently showing a brand new colour trend for the next seasons: orange. And that thanks not to Prada (or maybe she has also that kind of political pre-vision) but to the new mayor, Giuliano Pisapia. Orange was the colour of his campaing, supporters, posters, pins and maybe thoughts and, though not an easy tone to wear before a decent sun-tan, orange was the dominant nuance of the joyful crowds in piazza Duomo and thereabout, and even of the kids on the vespas with orange helmets and ballons and flags who rode the streets like after a soccer victory (Milan had his Champion’s league moment, in a way). But now…what are the fashion risks of orange? And what the strategies to be orange-looking if not orange-wearing? Well, I guess orange is perfect for a dress, less for a man suite (a jacket is ok). Better a shirt than a T-shirt. Better a scarf than a pair oj pants. Orange neon polish is perfect, orange shades for hair not so appealing. Yes for Lips and cheeks, bags and heels, but not all together. And if you want some names of log lasting orange tradition: choose Hermes and Tory Burch. Cannot wear the winning colour? Choose a spritz at the aperitivo. Or a Fanta all day. Or take the tram in Milan: it was orange also before, but this is not an issue.
